Archiware P5

Archiware P5 is a straightforward backup and archiving program that businesses use to protect their important digital files and videos. It automatically makes safe copies of your data and stores them so you can quickly restore files if something gets lost, damaged, or deleted. It keeps long-term archives that save money on storage while making sure old projects remain easy to find years later. P5 connects to S3-compatible object storage, treating these cheap cloud buckets as its secure vault for both fresh backups and deep archives. This S3 approach gives companies reliable protection at a fraction of the cost of traditional tape or expensive hardware while still letting them retrieve any file with a few clicks.

Connection / Setup

  1. Create an account and log in to DiskSpace
  2. Click I'm ready to set up my storage
  3. Enter Bucket Name following the instructions
  4. Click Create Bucket and wait for it to be generated
  5. Find your Endpoint URL, Access Key, and Secret Key in the S3 Client Configuration section for use below

Connecting DiskSpace.sh to Archiware P5

DiskSpace.sh is a fully S3-compatible object storage service. Follow the steps below to configure it as an S3 target in Archiware P5.

Connection Steps
  1. Open Archiware P5 and navigate to the Storage section.
  2. Click Add Storage and select S3 Compatible as the storage type.
  3. Fill in the connection details as shown below.
  4. Ensure Path Style access is enabled (required by DiskSpace.sh).
  5. Save and test the connection.

Your DiskSpace.sh access key
Your DiskSpace.sh secret key
Can be left empty or set to us-east-1
Important: DiskSpace.sh requires Path Style requests. The correct URL format is: https://s3.diskspace.sh/bucket-name/key
Virtual-hosted style (bucket.s3.diskspace.sh) is not supported.

Endpoint: https://s3.diskspace.sh
Access Key: AKIAXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Secret Key: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Region: us-east-1

Troubleshooting
  • • Ensure you selected Path Style (sometimes labeled "Use Path Style Access" or "Force Path Style") in Archiware P5.
  • • Verify your Endpoint URL does not contain a trailing slash.
  • • Try region value us-east-1 if connection fails with an empty region.
  • • Check that your Access Key and Secret Key are copied correctly (no extra spaces).
  • • Confirm your bucket name contains only lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens.
