Backup & Recovery

Zmanda Pro

Zmanda Pro is a straightforward backup and recovery software that helps businesses and individuals protect their important files, databases, and applications. It automatically makes copies of your critical data on a schedule so you can quickly restore everything if something gets lost, damaged, or hacked. It uses S3-compatible object storage as a safe, affordable, and scalable place to keep these backup copies, often in the cloud. This means your backups are stored reliably with built-in redundancy while keeping costs low since you only pay for what you use. The combination gives you peace of mind knowing your data is both protected and easy to retrieve whenever you need it.

Important: Path-Style Requests Required

DiskSpace.sh requires path-style URLs. Zmanda Pro must be configured to use path-style addressing instead of virtual-hosted style.

Example Configuration
Endpoint URL: https://s3.diskspace.sh
Access Key: AKIAXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Secret Key: ****************************************

Path Style: Enabled
Troubleshooting Tips
  • • Ensure the bucket exists in your DiskSpace.sh account before testing.
  • • Verify that your Access Key and Secret Key have full S3 permissions.
  • • If connection fails, confirm that Path Style is explicitly enabled in Zmanda Pro settings.
  • • Check firewall rules and network connectivity to s3.diskspace.sh.
  • • For further assistance, contact DiskSpace.sh support with your endpoint and error logs.
