Commander One

Commander One is a simple file manager app for Mac and Windows that works like an upgraded version of your computer's regular file explorer. It lets you easily copy, move, delete, and organize files on your computer, external drives, and even files stored online. In everyday use, it helps you manage photos, documents, and backups without getting lost in complicated menus or slow loading times. Commander One connects directly to S3-compatible object storage so you can treat those online storage spaces just like another folder on your computer. This means you can drag and drop files to and from S3 storage quickly, keep everything in one window, and avoid uploading through slow web pages.

Connection / Setup

  1. Create an account and log in to DiskSpace
  2. Click I'm ready to set up my storage
  3. Enter Bucket Name following the instructions
  4. Click Create Bucket and wait for it to be generated
  5. Find your Endpoint URL, Access Key, and Secret Key in the S3 Client Configuration section for use below

Connect DiskSpace.sh to Commander One

Commander One fully supports DiskSpace.sh S3-compatible storage using path-style requests. Follow the steps below to configure your connection.

Connection Steps:
  1. Open Commander One and navigate to the Connections menu.
  2. Select Amazon S3 (or S3 Compatible Storage) as the connection type.
  3. Fill in the following credentials and settings:
Endpoint URL:
https://s3.diskspace.sh
Access Key:
Enter the Access Key provided by DiskSpace.sh
Secret Key:
Enter the Secret Key provided by DiskSpace.sh
Region:
Leave empty or use us-east-1
Important: Path-Style Requests
DiskSpace.sh requires path-style URLs (not virtual-hosted style). Commander One must be configured to use path-style requests. The correct format is:
https://s3.diskspace.sh/bucket-name/key
Troubleshooting
  • If connection fails, ensure "Use path-style requests" or "Force path style" is enabled in advanced settings.
  • Verify your Endpoint URL does not contain a trailing slash.
  • Double-check that both Access Key and Secret Key are entered correctly.
  • Try setting Region to us-east-1 if leaving it blank doesn't work.
  • Ensure you are using the latest version of Commander One.
