DobiMigrate

DobiMigrate is a simple, reliable tool that moves large amounts of files and data from one storage system to another. It works like a smart moving company that carefully packs up your digital belongings and delivers them safely to a new home without losing anything. It uses S3-compatible object storage as a temporary parking spot in the cloud where data can be staged, verified, and transferred at high speeds. This approach makes the whole process much faster and cheaper because S3 storage is inexpensive, scales easily, and works with almost any cloud provider. The real-world value is that businesses can switch storage providers, upgrade systems, or move to the cloud with minimal downtime and no expensive surprises.

Connection / Setup

  1. Create an account and log in to DiskSpace
  2. Click I'm ready to set up my storage
  3. Enter Bucket Name following the instructions
  4. Click Create Bucket and wait for it to be generated
  5. Find your Endpoint URL, Access Key, and Secret Key in the S3 Client Configuration section for use below

Connect DobiMigrate to DiskSpace.sh

DobiMigrate supports DiskSpace.sh as an S3-compatible storage target. Follow the steps below to configure your connection.

Connection Steps
  1. Log in to your DiskSpace.sh account and create or select the bucket you want to use.
  2. Generate or retrieve your Access Key and Secret Key from the DiskSpace.sh dashboard.
  3. In DobiMigrate, create a new S3 storage connection and enter the following details:
Region: Leave empty or set to us-east-1
Important: Path-Style Requests Required

DiskSpace.sh requires path-style URLs. DobiMigrate must be configured to use path-style addressing (not virtual-hosted style).

https://s3.diskspace.sh/bucket-name/key
Example Configuration
Endpoint URL: https://s3.diskspace.sh
Access Key: AKIAXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Secret Key: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Region: us-east-1 (or leave blank)
Path Style: Enabled
Troubleshooting
  • Ensure "Use Path Style" or "Force Path Style" is enabled in DobiMigrate
  • Verify your Access Key and Secret Key have the necessary S3 permissions
  • Check that the bucket name is correctly spelled and exists
  • If connection fails, try setting Region to us-east-1
  • Confirm you are using the correct endpoint: https://s3.diskspace.sh
