Syncovery
Syncovery is a straightforward backup and file synchronization program that keeps copies of your important files safe. It automatically copies your photos, documents, and other files from your computer to other places so you never lose them if something goes wrong. It uses S3-compatible object storage as a secure, affordable cloud locker that can hold unlimited amounts of your data without needing to manage servers yourself. This cloud storage lets Syncovery quickly send new or changed files to the cloud in the background while only transferring the parts that have changed to save time and bandwidth. The combination gives you reliable protection with the flexibility to access your backed-up files from anywhere while keeping costs low.

Connecting Syncovery to DiskSpace.sh (S3-compatible storage)
Syncovery fully supports S3-compatible storage. Follow the steps below to configure DiskSpace.sh as a storage profile using path-style requests.
Connection Steps
- Open Syncovery and click New Folder/Profile.
- Select Amazon S3 (or Compatible) as the storage type.
- In the connection settings, enter the following credentials and configuration:
Endpoint URL:
https://s3.diskspace.sh
Access Key ID:
Enter the Access Key provided by DiskSpace.sh
Secret Access Key:
Enter the Secret Key provided by DiskSpace.sh
Region:
Leave empty or use
us-east-1
Important: Path-Style Requests
DiskSpace.sh requires path-style requests. In Syncovery, enable the option labeled
"Use Path Style Requests (S3 Compatible)" or "Force Path Style".
This ensures URLs are formatted as
https://s3.diskspace.sh/bucket-name/key instead of virtual-hosted style.
Example Configuration
Endpoint: https://s3.diskspace.sh
Access Key: AKIAXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Secret Key: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Region: (empty) or us-east-1
Path Style: Enabled
Troubleshooting
- • Ensure "Force Path Style" or "Use Path-Style Requests" is checked
- • Verify the Endpoint URL does not contain a bucket name
- • Try region
us-east-1if connection fails with empty region - • Check that your Access Key and Secret Key are copied correctly (no extra spaces)
- • Test the connection using Syncovery's built-in "Test" button
