Network Optix NX

Network Optix NX is a smart video surveillance system that lets you watch and manage security cameras from many locations all in one place. It records what your cameras see, lets you search through old footage quickly, and sends alerts when something important happens like motion or a person appearing. It uses S3-compatible object storage as a giant, reliable digital warehouse to keep all your video recordings safe without filling up your own computers or servers. This storage approach makes it easy to expand as you add more cameras because you can simply connect to cheap cloud storage instead of buying expensive new hardware. The result is lower costs, videos that are safely backed up, and the ability to find and watch any moment from any camera almost instantly.

Connection / Setup

  1. Create an account and log in to DiskSpace
  2. Click I'm ready to set up my storage
  3. Enter Bucket Name following the instructions
  4. Click Create Bucket and wait for it to be generated
  5. Find your Endpoint URL, Access Key, and Secret Key in the S3 Client Configuration section for use below

Connect Network Optix NX to DiskSpace.sh

DiskSpace.sh is a fully S3-compatible object storage service. Follow the steps below to configure Network Optix NX with path-style S3 access.

Connection Steps
  1. Log in to your Network Optix NX Server or Desktop client as an administrator.
  2. Navigate to System Administration > Storage (or Cloud Storage settings).
  3. Select Add Storage and choose Amazon S3 Compatible as the storage type.
  4. Fill in the connection details as shown below.
  5. Save and test the connection. NX will verify connectivity to DiskSpace.sh.
Credential Fields
Use this exact endpoint (path-style required).
Can be left empty or set to us-east-1.
Important: Path-Style Requests
Network Optix NX must be configured to use path-style URLs.
DiskSpace.sh requires the bucket name to appear in the path, not in the hostname.

Correct format: https://s3.diskspace.sh/bucket-name/object-key

Incorrect (virtual-hosted): https://bucket-name.s3.diskspace.sh/object-key

Use Path Style: Enabled (required)
Troubleshooting Tips
  • • Ensure the provided Access Key and Secret Key are active and have write permissions on the target bucket.
  • • Verify that the bucket exists in your DiskSpace.sh account before connecting.
  • • If connection fails, confirm you are using path-style requests and not virtual-hosted style.
  • • Check firewall rules and network connectivity to s3.diskspace.sh on port 443.
  • • For further assistance, contact DiskSpace.sh support with your endpoint and error logs from NX.
